Day 1- Delhi
Arrival at Delhi is followed by transfer to hotel and overnight at
hotel.
Day 2- Delhi
A full day city tour of Delhi is arranged. The excursion includes Raj
Ghat, Shanti Van, Jama Masjid, Red fort, Chandni Chowk, Qutub Minar,
Humayun's tomb, India Gate, Lakshmi Narayan temple, President's house,
Parliament house, Connaught place etc. Raj Ghat and Shanti Van are the
cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru respectively.
Overnight at Delhi.
Day 3- Delhi/ Jaipur
In the morning you will e driven to Jaipur, via road. Upon arrival,
check in into hotel. In the evening, explore the city life of Jaipur
city. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4- Jaipur
Start your day with adventure- elephant ride at Amber Fort. It is
followed by an excursion tour of the city covering the Hawa Mahal, Royal
Observatory, City Palace, Nawab Sahab Ki Haveli and Johari Bazar etc.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 5- Jaipur/ Agra
In the morning you will be driven to Agra. A brief stop over to
Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted town of the Mughal Dynasty. On arrival,
check in into hotel at Agra. An afternoon city tour of Agra is arranged
covering the Taj Mahal, Red Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-daula.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 6- Agra/ Varanasi
In morning you are relocated to the airport to catch flight to
Varanasi. On arrival, transfer to hotel. In the afternoon a city tour of
historic Sarnath is arranged. Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha
gave his first sermon. It is also famous for its Dhamekh Stupa.
Overnight at hotel in Varanasi.
Day 7- Varanasi
At dawn enjoy the pleasant boat ride on river Ganges, followed by a
city tour covering the Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple etc.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 & 9- Varanasi/ Bodhgaya
Stay at Bodhgaya includes excursions to Rajgir/ Nalanda / Saptapari
cave and Venevamas. In these two days you will come across many places
of Buddhist significance. At Rajgir Buddha spent 12 years and the first
Buddhist council after the Nirvana of Buddha held here. Nalanda was an
important center of Buddhist learning in ancient times. Overnight at
hotel.
Day 10- Bodhgaya/ Vaishali/ Kushinagar
In the morning you are driven to Vaishali. It was at Vaishali that Lord
Buddha delivered his last sermon and announced about his Nirvana. Here
you can see the majestic Ashoka Pillar, the Lotus tank, Chaumukhi and
proceed to Kushinagar for overnight stay.
Day 11- Kushinagar/ Lumbini
In the morning you can explore the Mahanirvana temple, the modern
Japan/ Srilanka Buddhist center and monasteries and then proceed to
Lumbini. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12- Lumbini/ Kapilvastu/ Sravasti/ Balrampur
At Lumbini, morning tour to the Ashoka pillar (249 BC) rediscovered in
1890's, Mayadevi temple, the ruins of an old monastery and some new
stupas. Set for Balrampur in the afternoon, visiting Sravasti where you
will see the extensive ruins of this ancient city and Jetavana
Monastery, enroute. On arrival you will be transferred to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 13- Balrampur/ Lucknow
Explore the city in the morning. Later on, drive to Lucknow. Arrival is
followed by check in into hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14- Lucknow/ Delhi
In the morning, explore the city of Nawabs, Lucknow, covering Imambara,
Rumi Darwaza etc. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport
for flight to Delhi. Arrival is followed by transfer to hotel and
overnight stay.
Day 15- Departure From Delhi
You have leisure time after breakfast. In the evening you are relocated
to the hotel for your return flight.
